All Puppies are Submissive?

Whoever told you all puppies are submissives is an ass-hat.  There are many different roles puppies can take-on.  Some are very dominate, sometimes referred to as “Alphas”.  Some are completely submissive, referred to as “Gammas” or “Omegas” depending on their level of submissiveness.  Some are in the middle and are called “Betas”.  All this being said, you can also just be a “switch” and jump between various roles depending on mood, environment or the other puppies you are interacting with.

Where do handler’s fit in?  Handlers are typically dominate over all the puppies in the pack, but handlers can be switches too, so don’t assume they are all dominate.  As a handler I take on a dominate role over my pup(s).  I am also a puppy, and as a puppy I consider myself  beta.  Whatever you do, don’t let people try and put you in a box.  It may take you time to figure out where you fit, but it is up to you in the end.

All this goes back to a continued theme, never let anyone define what puppy is (or isn’t) and certainly don’t let them define what puppy is for you.  In conjunction with that, don’t let being a puppy limit you or your experiences.  When I decided to run for a Leather title, there were plenty of well-represented people that told me a puppy shouldn’t run for that title or that if I did, I should tone-down or hide that I’m a puppy.  I never hide who I am or what I represent and I implore you all to do the same.
